Waw, some Lebanese are that much Arguileh addicted!

Here’s what a group of Lebanese guys came up with when they forgot to bring their Arguileh with them on a picnic.
Unbelievable, someone put time and effort to do this!

About Arguileh:
There are so many different names for this unique smoking device. Some call it a argileh, nargileh, hookah, water-pipe, shisha, etc. The Argileh (Narguile as it is known in the Middle East) has been the standard of smoking for centuries in the middle east and originated in Turkey over 500 years ago. HUBBLY BUBBLY smoking is quite common at restaurants and cafes all across the middle east.

This unique smoking experience is rapidly growing in popularity all over the world. Many people love the smooth, flavorful, and cool taste of the smoke. The Shisha pipes filter the flavored smoke with cool water making each puff oh so sweet!!

Tobacco mixed with fruit molasses and honey is used when smoking out of a shisha. Other names for this include: tabac, tombak, tumbak, gouza, guza, moassel etc. Specifically, the tobacco is a grounded up mixture of dried fruit pulp, flavored molasses, and fresh tobacco leaves. Lebanese Youth favorite is called 'Two Applies- touffahteyn' or maybe "Lemon & mint - Hamod w Na3na3" and is made up of the dried pulp of red and green apples. The tobacco comes in a variety of flavors including apple, apricot, strawberry, mixed fruit, mint, cherry, grape, and the list just goes on and on.

Argileh's are usually lavishly decorated and can make for a great conversation piece in your home. And it makes for a delightful experience.

Finally, Lebanese people are more than addicted on arguileh, basically they are in loved on it!

Achrafieh district should have its own municipality?

To start with; Achrafieh does not have its own municipality which is a big obstacle for an accurate development of our lovely district!

While public gardens, roads, sidewalks and buildings are constantly neglected in Achrafieh (and other cities around Beirut as well), there’s a huge staff in charge of keeping DownTown Beirut in shape!

We are not saying DownTown Beirut shouldn’t be taken care of, but having one municipality for all of the Beirut region including Down Town, Hamra, Achrafieh, Verdun... is absurd.
May be it's the time to think about our capital districts especially Achrafieh!

A proposal has been made to the government to rename Beirut International Airport as "Rafik Hariri's International Airport-Beirut," An Nahar reported on Tuesday 22 of February 2005.
Mikati held the public works portfolio in Hariri's last two governments.
Mikati said in the letter that the rebuilding and rehabilitation of Beirut Airport after the civil war was one of Hariri's sterling accomplishments and it would be an acknowledgement by the people of Lebanon if the ariport is given his name.
